Across The Universe

For Ella's first trip to the beach, we took her to watch the amazing night launch of space shuttle Discovery on December 9, 2006. It was the first night launch since 2002, and the first one Donna's ever seen. As you can see, Ella slept soundly through the whole affair (thanks to great friend Austin for snapping the family pic). Unfortunately, we decided to brave the cold and crowds at the last minute, and didn't get set up in time to take a good picture of the launch. Watching the shuttle blaze a fiery trail across the night sky was truly spectacular.
